Leslie Control, Inc. is an international manufacturer of industrial and military control systems. The following article appeared in the November 1991 internal newsletter of the company.

“The CLAM® . . . We're working cleaner and smarter to provide a safe and clean environment.

Recently, after months of researching and trying a manufacturer’s sample, we have receive a new hot water degreasing tank that was custom outfitted for our production needs. The new machine, “The CLAM®,” is made by G.M.F. Industries in Lakeland, Florida. It uses biodegradable detergent and ordinary water heated under a dual thermostat control to approximately 180°. The solution is pumped from the tank through a filter at a rate of 120 gallons per minute and into the system manifold at a pressure of 45 PSI.

By providing complete containment of wastes and eliminating the need for toxic cleaning solutions. The CLAM® makes it easy to clean parts in a way that protects our environment. Parts can be easily loaded and cleaned in automated cycles, as compared to the manual processes that were used previously.
